Lilly Lovin' for Your iPhone

It is no secret that I love me some Lilly Pulitzer. I recently purchased the new iPhone 4s (the day it came out- yes, I am one of those crazy people) and I had to get a cute and sassy case to outfit my beautiful new phone.
When I saw the Lilly Pulitzer iPhone cases, I knew I had to have one! They come in quite a few different patterns, but this one- "Luscious"- was definitely my favorite!
The bright colors and fun floral pattern just make me smile every time I look at my iPhone. I love Lilly because everything, even the inside of the case, it perfect to the last detail- do you see the "Lilly" signature etched inside? I love this case!

You can purchase this case at Lilly Pulitzer (in stores and online) and in boutiques that sell Lilly Pulitzer.

Shellac Update

It has been a little over two weeks since I got my first Shellac manicure (If you missed the post about my experience and Shellac background click here: Fab-YOU-lous: CND Shellac Hybrid Nail Polish)
I am so excited to report to all of my fabulous fashionista followers the overwhelming amount of success that I personally had with Shellac. I could not be any more pleased with how it lasted.
As you can see in the photos throughout this post (all of which were taken two weeks after I had my Shellac manicure) there was not a single chip or smudge on any of my nails!
The only small issue/problem with Shellac is actually due to it lasting so long! As my nails grew out, the nail polish naturally did not meet the bottom of my nail bed anymore. As time goes on and your nails grow, the gap between your nail bed and the polish line gets larger. However, for me, this was not as big of an issue since I got the French finish with my Shellac. You could not really see this line unless you looked closely, but if you had a darker color like red or brown, I would imagine this gap to be much more prominent.
Overall, I could not be happier with my $35 investment in a Shellac manicure. I did not have one single chip for two whole weeks, which is FABULOUS in my opinion! I look forward to definitely getting another Shellac manicure in the near future.

Have you tried Shellac?? Let me know what you thought in a comment on this post!

CND Shellac Hybrid Nail Polish

This is a revolutionary new product for nails! Shellac is a breakthrough nail technology, created by CND, that combines the easy application of nail polish with the permanentness and shine of gel nails. Shellac does absolutely no damage to your nails, but last for 14 days! To make it even better, there is absolutely no drying time involved! Shellac polish is cured under a UV light, which makes it hard, shiny, and completely dry when your treatment is finished.
My First Shellac Manicure- French Finish
I got Shellac put on my nails just a few days ago, and I love it! I chose to have a French finish put on my nails instead of using a plain color. They look amazingly shiny and are perfectly smooth- they feel exactly like regular nail polish on your fingers.

After the treatment was over, my nail technician rubbed them with a paper towel, and they were 100% completely dry! I was so in shock because normally I feel like I can't use my fingers for hours after I get a manicure, but this is definitely not the case with Shellac- There is truly NO drying time.
I would completely recommend this service to anyone- if you hate waiting around for your nails to dry, want a manicure to last 14 days without any chips at all, and want a stunningly smooth and shiny mirror-finished nail, then Shellac is for you!

Find a salon that does Shellac near you: http://www.cnd.com/Locate/Shellac-Find-A-Salon.aspx

My service with the French finish cost $35. For plain color it will cost around $25; however, this varies by salon.

Technology of the Moment- iPad Review

I have been thinking about writing this post for quite some time now, but I wasn't sure how interested my blog readers would be about a technology review; however, when I looked back to my blog's original "mission statement" if you will, Fab-YOU-lous is committed to teaching others how to live a fabulous, stylish, and glamorous lifestyle, which I believe does include new, stylish, and hot technology such as the most saught-after technology piece at the moment- Apple's iPad!

I am a fortunate owner of an iPad, and purchased mine the week that Apple began selling them in stores (I have had it for several months now). I, like many others, are obsessed with all of Apple's technology- I own a MacBook, iPhone, iPod, and iPad and have gone through many versions of all of the above listed products. So naturally, I had to purchase the iPad immediately and add it to my Apple collection.
The screen is absolutely fabulous- the colors and depth of the pictures and graphics that you are holding right in your hands is amazing! The screen is the perfect size, but the iPad does get heavy if you are holding it upwright for awhile. A huge perk for this device is the battery life- It is phenomenal- I once had my iPad on and used it for 5 days without charging it!

I have downloaded pages and pages of apps, and I am very pleased with them all. Most have been free, but I splurged on a few that I thought were really cool, such as a stargazer application that shows you exactly where any constellation is in the sky using your iPad as a reference point. Also, I downloaded the Pages application, which is Apple's version of Word- This works well, but I would not recommend typing a long paper on this device, it is best for short edits to documents.

For someone who doesn't do much more than search the internet, check emails, use AIM, and play Solitare, this device allows me to do it all with ease. It is a great device for traveling due to its small size and light weight, as compared to a regular laptop; however, I still would not travel without my MacBook laptop as well, due to some of the missing features on the iPad, including: webcam, USB port (for camera, music, documents, etc.), and CD drive.
Overall, I enjoy my iPad very much, but definitely could live without it. The best way to describe its functionality is that it is in a space between the iPhone and MacBook, but doesn't replace either of them; therefore, making it a fun device, but definitely unnecessary if you, like myself, own an iPhone and a MacBook.

Verdict= 3/5 stars

You can purchase an iPad at Apple (online or in stores)
Retail Price: $500-$829
