Doing Good While Looking Great

One of my absolute favorite websites is Modcloth.com, I get almost all of my dresses and clothes from there, as the website offers a fantastic range of products for reasonable prices.
The Frocktober Dress from Modcloth is so fabulous and for such a great cause. Frocktober is all about wearing dresses during the month of October to raise funds and awareness for ovarian cancer research. When you purchase this pretty piece, 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation of Australia.
Boasting a color combination found exclusively at ModCloth, this orange dress by 8000 Nerves features a fetching blue heart across the front that attests to your kind nature with every wear.

Lace Shift Dress

This Suzi Chin Maggy Boutique Lace Shift Dress is so delicately beautiful and is a must-have in your wardrobe for this summer.
One of my favorite things about this dress is the length- not to short and not to long, absolutely perfect for an afternoon lunch, work in the office or a Christening. It is youthful, trendy and super fashionable, yet classy and sophisticated.
Circular lace decorates this short sleeve charmeuse dress as an overlay. This dress is right on trend with its neutral and nude tones. Add a pair of nude patent pumps and a long golden sparkly necklace you are dressed to impress for any fancy occasion!

Want it Wednesday!

This stunning Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent "Long Ruffle Slip Dress" is my want it item of the week. I am such a huge fan of Maxi dresses- they are so flattering, beautiful, and stylish. Maxi dresses are my must-have item for Spring, which I am especially excited for Spring since it is so cold and snowy where I am right now.
This Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent maxi dress is exclusive to Shopbop. This beautiful V-neck printed woven 100% silk maxi dress features a ruffled bottom hem with a smocked elastic waist. This dress is lined at the bust and has adjustable spaghetti straps.
I love this boho and hip style by Cynthia Vincent- it is subtle, chic and demure, while still sexy. Adding some nude wedges and golden jewelry with a pony-tail and light makeup would totally complete this look.

High Caliber Sparkle Madness

I am beyond obsessed with this fabulous dress- how fierce is this High Caliber Dress by Eyedoll?!
This absolutely looks like a style that a celebrity like Rihanna would be seen in. You will be a knockout in this golden sequined masterpiece. This dress features bright and colorful cascading weaponry along the body and sleeves. This item is a true showstopper and will certainly turn heads.
If you are all about this look, like I am, you can really take it to the next level by adding these amazing Chanel Gun Heels, which are some of my all-time favorites (Cruise Collection 2009).

Beach Fashion

Summer is an amazing time of year- everyone loves spending the day out on the beach or by the pool. This summer fun may leave many fashionistas wondering, what is appropriate beach fashion?
So many times I have seen people walking around in their bathing suits (especially bikinis) with just shorts or in a extra large tshirt over them- PLEASE do not do this! It automatically makes you look sloppy and unpolished- always cover up properly! And when choosing your suit remember that some things need to be left to the imagination, if you get my drift.
Everyone wants to look good on the beach, especially since you are more than half naked in front of strangers... This leads me to the fashionista's most important item for beach fashion: a perfect swimsuit cover-up. A cover-up is so important and every fashionista needs a few in her beachwear repertoire. I personally love the terrycloth halter cover-ups that Ralph Lauren makes to match their suits (picture seen above- I have at least 5 of these and it is what I always wear over my suit to the beach or pool), you immediately look very classic and posh wearing one of these.
If you don't want to spend the money on an actual cover-up, that is totally cool too, you can always opt to use a sundress that you already have in your closet. Anything that is flowy and of light material will work perfectly for a cover-up, and bright colors are extra fun!
Another one of my favorite beach fashions is to wear a huge floppy hat- I think this is so fun, fashionable, and also practical! Wearing a hat like this will shield you from the harmful UV rays, while also giving your beachwear an instant explosion of glamour. Personally, I wear a white floppy hat, which I love because does not attract the sun and matches everything.
Find whatever works best for you and try it out- Thanks for reading and have fun in the sun!

Want It Wednesday!

For this week's "Want It" item, I decided to go with something that really caught my eye: this fabulously colorful Versace Floral-Print Stretch-Satin Dress.
This multicolored flower print mini dress is sure to draw attention and turn heads! The primary colors of this bold dress are bright orange and blue, with subtle accent hints of fuchsia, purple, pink, green, and white.
If I had the chance to style someone in this dress, I would first recommend pairing it with these amazing Jimmy Choo Private Patent Leather Sandals in nude. The nude/neutral color is of utmost importance in this styling because the dress is so busy, bold, and colorful. All attention should be on the dress in this case, so your best option is to pair it with a shoe that will not attract much attention. These Jimmy Choo sandals have a 5 inch heel and have a gold zipper closure detail at the back.
As far as jewelry goes with this styling, I once again would recommend sticking to simple designs since all eyes should be on this bold dress. This YSL Arty Flower ring in gold will do the trick- It offers an abstract, golden, floral design, which compliments this dress perfectly. For earrings, just a simple gold stud will work best.

This dress will make such a dramatic statement at any event, and when styled correctly, could really be a jaw-dropper! If only I could have a dress like this, and more importantly, a place to wear it to! ;)

All items included in this post can be purchased at www.Net-A-Porter.com
Retail Prices: Versace Floral-Print Stretch-Satin Dress, $1,775; Jimmy Choo Private Patent Leather Sandals, $950; YSL Arty Flower Ring, $195

Thanks for reading, fashionistas!

Trend Alert- Ruffles

Calling all fashionistas! We have a new hot trend on our hands- ruffles! Ruffles have taken the spotlight in many fashions for this season, especially in dresses. This has been a very prominent detail on runways and red carpets, but lucky for all of us, this trend has also transitioned into the everyday fashionista's wardrobe!
Ruffles are a classic, classy, and chic detail for any garment this season, dresses in particular. Ruffles add such a beautiful and feminine twist to a dress, especially in bright summer colors. I would recommend for every fashionista to purchase a few different styles of summer ruffle dresses in varying colors and styles of ruffles- There are plenty of options out there, so keep looking until you find a ruffle style that works for you!
Enjoy and experiment with this summer trend!
