Miss America Shoe Collection at DSW

If you watched the Miss America pageant, I am sure that you noticed the constant mention of DSW shoes, the main sponsor of the pageant. DSW has debuted their own Miss America Shoe Collection, available exclusively at DSW stores and online.
DSW has 16 shoes in their collection, ranging from cute flats to sparkly high heels. Everything in the collection ranges from $49.95 to $59.95. Here are some of my favorites from the collection: 


The Miss America Laurel is a simply adorable flat. It is available in a lovely light pink, black, and nude/off-white. My favorite part is the bottom of this flat- look at the crowns- I am obsessed! The Miss America Laurel Flat has a retail price of $49.95.


I truly believe that no fashionista will ever have enough pairs of glittery glamorous heels! The Miss America Ilene Metallic Sandal heels are amazingly versatile and fun, adding glam and sparkle to any ensemble. This shoe screams "Miss America" to me, and would be fabulous if paired with some skinny jeans for a night out or with any party dress. This shoe has to be my favorite of the collection. Grace from Miss America is a gorgeous platform evening slingback open-toe sandal that will never let you down. My First Shellac Color Manicure


As you all know, I am LOVING soak-off gel nails right now, regular nail polish just doesn't do it for me anymore! Whether they are Shellac, Axxium, or Calgel- there is something just so fabulous about not having a single chip, crack or smudge for 2 entire weeks!

In the past, I have always only gotten a French finish with my Shellac or Axxium manicures, so for the first time I decided to get solid color on my nails. I chose the Red Baroness shade, which is a lovely deep red, absolutely perfect for the winter season. 
I couldn't be any happier, once again, with my Shellac manicure. I am obsessed with the color- It is incredibly shiny and has a stunning mirror-like finish that is so much more prominent with the color than on a French finish.

This application of Shellac cost $35, but this varies per salon

Makeup Brush Shampoo

I cannot emphasize the importance of shampooing and cleansing your makeup brushes enough. It happens to all of us, fashionistas, I know it slips our minds and with busy schedules it definitely gets put on the backburner. Shampooing your makeup brushes will keep your brushes in perfect shape, will prevent any makeup buildup, and will prolong their life.
The brush shampoo that I currently use is Sephora Brand Purifying Brush Shampoo. It works very well, is reasonably priced, and comes in a variety of sizes. This anti-bacterial formula by Sephora will keep your brushes pure and ready to perform like their are brand new.


How to use:
-Dampen brush bristles with lukewarm water.
-Pump a small amount of shampoo into your hand or onto a clean surface.
-Gently swirl the brush into shampoo to create a light lather, working the lather through bristles.
-Rinse thoroughly.
-This mild formula will remove most traces of makeup—to remove more stubborn waterproof makeup, gently rub the bristles while rinsing.
-Once brush is clean, squeeze out excess water with a lint-free tissue.
-Reshape brush and lay flat or upside-down to dry—do not stand brush upright to dry.


With the expense of makeup brushes, we have to take care of them, fashionistas- Be sure to shampoo your brushes frequently!

Personally, this is my absolute favorite trend right now, and it is as hot as ever- Over the Knee Boots! When styled correctly, over the knee boots will instantly take an outfit from drab to fab! This hot look is being seen on celebrities, socialites, and fashionistas everywhere right now.

Affordable: Steve Madden Catepult


This boots by Steve Madden are perfect for any over the knee trend-seeking fashionista. I especially love the buckle detailing behind the knee, it adds an extra bit of edge. They are available in black or brown leather, and retail for the reasonable price of $129.95.


Steal: Slouchy Suede Thigh High Boot from GoJane
 Seriously, fashionistas, how can you go wrong with this steal?! These fabulous boots are available in black, royal blue, and plum red (although I would seriously only recommend purchasing the black ones). These over the knee boots are faux suede with a slouchy fit and top cuff. And ringing in at... drum roll please... $36.30 how could you pass up this incredible steal?!
