Pot Rouge by Bobbi Brown

I have come across such a makeup treasure, perfect for the coming summer months. Introducing the "Pot Rouge" by Bobbi Brown!

The product is one of Bobbi Brown's best-selling. Pot Rouge is a multi-tasking cream color that you can blend on the apples of your cheeks for a beautiful subtle blush look or blot it on your lips for a soft, stained finish. You can build the opacity simply by blending more or less into your skin until your desired level of color is achieved.

The best part is that this formula lasts all day long! And there are tons of colors to choose from- I have "Kate" named after Katie Holmes, who is the face of Bobbi Brown. The packaging is a simple and classic mirrored flip-top compact-  perfect for on-the-go application.

Cargo Waterproof Blush

I have found my new favorite summer blush! I actually discovered this unique gem through a generously sized Birchbox sample (which will probably last me 6 months). Introducing the Cargo Waterproof Blush, a staple for every makeup loving fashionista!

This blush's long-lasting formula is sweat-, heat-, and tear-proof. And it’s packed with subtle light-diffusing minerals that give skin an effortless glow. So how does it work? L-lysine, an amino acid naturally found in your skin, ups the blush’s staying power.

This blush is available in three shades—Ibiza, a shimmery bubblegum pink that goes on surprisingly sheer, Bali, a medium rose, and Los Cabos, a soft tangerine—flatter a range of skin tones. Personally I am using the Ibiza shade, I love it. Don’t be intimidated by the bright hues, but use sparingly—a little goes a long way!

NARS The Multiple in South Beach

NARS The Multiple in South Beach is my newest makeup obsession. This one stick is a combo eye, lip, and cheek color. The fabulous product was born during a 1996 Harper’s Bazaar shoot when Francois Nars chose to use a single lipstick on model Carolyn Murphy’s eyes, lips, and cheeks. Customers began copying the look, and NARS decided to launch a cream color with a texture that would work all over.

This amazing formula is creamy and adds sheer color to eyelids, cheeks, and lips. It blends in easily and the South Beach color has a slight shimmer that warms up the face. You can use it all over your face or just on your cheeks to chisel your cheekbones and contour that area. 

There are lots of ways to apply this product, depending on the area that you are applying it to. For cheeks, used as a blush, you can use your fingers or a blush brush to apply the color to the apples of your cheeks and cheekbones. Personally, I usually just apply it straight from the stick, swiping it onto my cheekbones and then blending with my fingers. To use as an eyeshadow, use your fingers to blend and apply the product; you can also use an eyeshadow brush for a more precise application. You can always finish off your look by dabbing some color from the stick onto your lips, I usually finish with a gloss to add some shine and sparkle to the look. 

I really am loving this NARS Mulptiple stick in South Beach. There are a bunch of other colors available, so I will definitely be checking those out as well!

NARS Dolce Vita

Forewarning, you will be seeing quite a few NARS makeup posts in the near future- I have gone on a NARS makeup spree and am beyond obsessed. If you are unfamiliar with the brand, NARS was founded by makeup artist extraordinaire, famed photographer and creator of NARS Cosmetics, Francois Nars. The brand has a cult following for their fabulous products such as one of my go-to favorite blushes, Orgasm (Fab-YOU-lous: My Favorite Blush), and the famous Turkish Delight lip gloss (Fab-YOU-lous: My Favorite Lipgloss). NARS is known for so many outstanding products because their brand, although a bit pricey, is unmatchable in quality and color pigmentation.

My Dolce Vita Family!

I really want to tell you all about my new favorite NARS shade- Dolce Vita. And trust me when I say I have gone Dolce Vita obsessed, I now have NARS blush, gloss, and lipstick in this shade. It is just beyond perfect, especially for the fall and winter months in particular.

NARS lipstick in Dolce Vita is the perfect shade, especially for light skin. This product has won tons of awards- Dolce Vita was named "Best Lipstick for Light Skin”, "Best Beauty Buys” and "Best Overall Lipstick” by InStyle. The NARS lipstick formula is beyond creamy and smooth- it is infused with antioxidants and conditioners to hydrate and condition the lips, I am so in love! I will definitely be returning to the lipstick line of NARS for my next makeup splurge.

NARS Dolce Vita lip gloss is a timeless favorite. This gloss is extremely pigment-thick, providing the wearer with fabulously brilliant color!

 

Last but not least, I would highly recommend the beyond beautiful Dolce Vita blush. NARS is known for their fantastic blush formulas, they are wonderfully buildable and versatile.

Pixie Perfect

I am always on the look-out for hot new beauty products and kits. When I saw these amazing new, limited edition "Pixie" inspired kits by Too Faced that just hit the market, I immediately had to get one of my own! The Too Faced kit that I purchased is the "Pixie Perfect" kit. The kit rang in at only $42, but the value of this kit far exceeds that at $110- what an amazing value! This kit includes five different products....

First, "Pixie Perfect" has an Eye Shadow Quad Palette in stunning shades of brown and tan (Velvet Revolver, Exclusive Shade, Totally Toasted, Peach Fuzz)

A Blush (Papa Don't Preach) and a Bronzing Powder (Sun Bunny).

The kit comes with a full size Glamour Gloss in Plush, Lash Injection Mascara in Black, and a travel sized Shadow Insurance eye primer. And who could forget the adorable quilted cosmetic case embellished with fairies, flowers, and butterflies, oh my!

I adore all of these products, and I have used them all every day since I purchased this fabulous kit! Kits like this are the best way to test out a makeup brand- I personally did not have any other products by Too Faced, but I couldn't be happier that I tested out some of their products through this value kit because they are all great! I would highly recommend this to any beauty loving fashionistas- it is a perfect stocking stuffer or secret Santa gift for the holidays too!

MAC Look in a Box

I love MAC Cosmetics- they are of very high quality, have inventive designs, and never disappoint. However, although MAC isn't ridiculously expensive, it is still quite pricey- especially when you buy things separately, and it is unfortunately rare that MAC offers a kit or value set for us fashionistas to stock up and save some money. Well, ladies, our problem is solved- MAC and Nordstrom have teamed up to offer the MAC Look in a Box kit!
This kit is a Nordstrom Beauty Exclusive created especially for their huge Anniversary sale that happens every year. They seem to be making these MAC Look in a Box kits an annual thing- I purchased last year's set at the Anniversary sale, and I love it! I am actually wearing the Dazzleglass lipgloss from that kit as I write this blog post ;)
This year Nordstrom and MAC have worked together to change the kit and update it with the newest and hottest trends, looks, and styles from this year's MAC makeup lines. The Look in a Box kit comes in three different options- Tawny One (golden brown look), Miss Violet (deep pink and purple look), and Frisky Girl (pale pink and nude look). Each kit includes a mascara, gloss, powder, blush, and eyeshadow that go with the desired look. In addition, the kit includes a face chart (like the picture above) so that you can create your desired chosen look.
This kit is a necessity for every fashionista- choose a look that works best for you and that you personally desire the most. I am so excited that Nordstrom is offering this kit again, and I definitely plan on buying one- I am leaning towards the gorgeous pinks and nudes in the Frisky Girl look. I can't wait to try these fabulous products!
