Let Me Entertain You: OPI Burlesque

I got SO excited when I saw that my nail salon had the new Burlesque by OPI colors in stock when I went in for a pedicure. While perusing the myriad of colors, I came upon this show-stopper: Let Me Entertain You
Honestly, the pictures do not do this stunning color justice. Let Me Entertain You is a fabulous hot pink polish with subtle sparkles and it is from the OPI Burlesque collection (Click here for my previous post on this fierce collection: Fab-YOU-lous: New OPI Burlesque Collection!
I LOVE this color so much I just may have to buy my own bottle :P This shining fuchsia glimmery hot pink polish is one of my all-time favorites! What do you think? Have any of you tried any of the colors from the OPI Burlesque collection?

OPI Axxium Soak-Off Gel Polish

Regular manicures are so 2010! I am always looking for new nail trends and ways to make my manicures last longer. I have previously posted on my experienced with CalGel (Click here: Fab-YOU-lous: BEST MANICURE OF MY LIFE!!!) and Shellac (Click here: Fab-YOU-lous: CND Shellac Hybrid Nail Polish). At my last trip to the nail salon, I tried OPI Axxium for the first time and I wanted to share my experience and the results with you.

OPI Axxium is a soak-off gel nail polish that lasts for at least 14 days without any chips or cracks. Much like CalGel and Shellac there is absolutely no drying time involved, which is always a plus. OPI Axxium is cured under a UV light, which makes it hard, shiny, and completely dry when your treatment is finished. Axxium is an odorless gel that is applied to your natural nail by a nail technician with a small brush. The treatment starts with a base coat, followed by color coats (or in my case the French application), and then finished with a top coat, all sealed in under the UV lamp.
As seen in the above photo, I chose to have a French finish put on my nails instead of using a plain color; however, OPI Axxium is known and loved by OPI enthusiasts for their color choices, which include some of OPI's most beloved and popular shades. My nails look amazingly shiny and are perfectly smooth, and they are stronger than ever!
Above is what my nails looked like exactly 14 days after application. Not a chip or crack anywhere!
So how does OPI Axxium compare to Shellac and CalGel? Well, I have to say that CalGel is still my #1 favorite of them all, both Shellac and OPI Axxium are at a close second, and a regular manicure finishes last. I personally felt that both the Shellac and Axxium offered pretty much the same thing overall, making them basically interchangeable in my mind. I would completely recommend any of these services to everyone- if you hate waiting around for your nails to dry, want a manicure to last 2-3 weeks without any chips at all, and want a stunningly smooth and shiny mirror-finished nail, then Shellac, Axxium, or CalGel are for you!

My OPI Axxium manicure cost $30; Prices for this service vary per salon, but usually range from about $25-$50.

Sparkly Perfection: Looks Like Rain Dear

Celebrate the Holidays and ring in the New Year with style with this perfect new nail color in Sephora by OPI's Holiday nail collection. Looks Like Rain Dear is a stunning opaque gold shade with fine and chunky iridescent glitter.
My nails after only one coat of Looks Like Rain Dear
I am obsessed with glitter polishes lately, and this is by far my favorite shade to date! The glitter is SO saturated that the picture above is what my nails looked like after only one coat- Can you believe it?! Of course, due to my normal routine, I put a second coat on for some extra sparkle and bling, but it actually was not even necessary.
I love this polish so much- I literally can't stop staring at my nails. It is so glamorous and fun, and I have gotten so many compliments!

This nail polish is available at Sephora in stores and online
Retail Price: $9

Sephora by OPI 212 Polish

This stunning limited edition color, 212-Sephora, is such a great polish for the holidays!
This color is a lovely opaque smoky black iridescent shade with gold and copper chunky glitter. It is not juvenile or too much at all, which can sometimes be an issue with glitter polishes (even though I am still obsessed with them), but instead features the perfect amount of sparkle that adds texture and shine to your glamorous nails.
As far as application is concerned, I recommend putting a coat of another color underneath- This little trick not only makes the color more concentrated and saturated, but also makes the polish so much easier to remove.

This color is available for purchase at Sephora in stores and online
Retail Price: $9

New OPI Burlesque Collection!

I have to have my fingers and toes painted at all times, so I am always looking out for new trends and fun color polishes to add to my collection. OPI has teamed up with another movie to create a nail polish collection, as they previously have with Shrek and Alice in Wonderland. OPI's newest collection was inspired by the upcoming movie Burlesque
My favorite type of polish is definitely OPI- they have every color polish you could ever dream of and are always coming out with new and fun collections. OPI polishes are of exceptional quality (this is almost always the polish they use in nail salons). You get a wonderfully long staying power out of these polishes (especially when using a base and top coat); They stay perfect for quite some time without chipping.
Above are all of the colors that will be in the collection- the OPI Burlesque collection is available in two groups, to separate the shimmers from the glitters.
The sparkle collection is as follows:
Bring On The Bling - A fun glittering gold
Glow Up Already! – Sparkle green
Extra-va-vaganza! – A bold orange glitter
Simmer & Shimmer –Blue glitter
Show It & Glow It! – Gorgeous purple/fuchsia glitter
Sparkle-icious - Multi-color glitter fabulousness

The shimmer collection is as follows:
Rising Star – Lustrous glimmering gold
Take the Stage – A warm orange spotlight shimmer
The Show Must Go On! – A deep pink shimmer  with hints of gold
Let Me Entertain You – Shining fuchsia glimme
Ali's Big Break – A glowing red shimmer
Tease-y Does It –Stunning burgundy shimmer

I am beyond obsessed with the colors Rising Star, The Show Must Go On! and Take the Stage. I can't wait to purchase them when the collection comes out at the beginning of November! What do you think? Will you be purchasing any colors from OPI's new Burlesque collection?

Verdict= FABULOUS! (5/5 stars!)

Trend Alert- Beige Nude Nails

Calling all fabulous fashionistas- We have a fierce and hot trend on our hands! Nails that are in the beige, nude, or tan spectrum are a super hot nail trend right now. It is the perfect shade for any time of year- it looks stunning in the summer sun and so chic in fall and winter.
Last season's Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs fashion shows featured this nude nail color on their models, and it has also been seen on some of the most cutting-edge celebrities and fashionistas around.
My personal favorite polish for this trend is OPI's Barefoot in Barcelona, which is the exact polish that was used in the Marc Jacobs fashion show last season. Above is a picture of my nails and my bottle of this polish. Below is a photo of just my nails alone after using this color.
It is chip resistant and long-lasting- I personally love OPI polish (it makes up the majority of my nail polish collection) it is a great brand, with funny polish names, salon quality, and at a reasonable price.

You can never go wrong when sporting a nude nail, so enjoy experimenting with this fabulously fun, chic, and sophisticated nail polish look!

I'm Going Mad!

Mad as a Hatter, that is ;) It was a usual day- I decided to go to the nail salon to get a much needed, stress-relieving pedicure, but BAMMM I stopped dead in my tracks when my eyes laid sight on this color: OPI Mad as a Hatter- A fantastically fun pure multicolor glitter color, like nothing I had ever seen before.

This color was a part of OPI's collection created especially for Disney's Alice in Wonderland movie. There were 4 colors released earlier this year in this special edition collection- Mad as a Hatter (multicolored purple/silver glitter), Absolutely Alice (blue glitter), Off with her Red (tomato red color), and Thanks so Muchness!(berry red metallic shimmer).

At first I was unsure of the Mad as a Hatter color, especially because it is summer, and I tend to choose more bright/bold colors in the summer (bright red, pink, blue, etc). However, I LOVE glitter, and this color is truly 100% pure glitter, like no other nail color I have ever seen, so I knew I would regret it if I didn't give it a shot. Well, thank goodness I went with my gut because I am OBSESSED with this polish! It is so amazing, and even more fabulous in the summertime with the summer sun hitting my toes and making them so shiny and sparkly!

I NEED to get my hands on this color, but unfortunately it is sold out everywhere and is priced around $20 for one bottle anywhere I can find it online (Very expensive when a regular OPI polish runs around $8.50); but, I am so obsessed I may splurge on it- I am so infatuated with this color, I can't stop staring at my toes!

Verdict= FABULOUS!!! (5/5 stars)

UPDATE!!- I found this polish! Woohooo! I was walking around the mall and decided to peek into a few nail salons, not really thinking that they would have it, but crossing my fingers just in case, and there it was! The sole lonely brand new 'Mad Hatter' bottle of polish in the for sale section of polishes. I scooped it up immediately, and better yet, it only cost $8! So excited about this amazing find, especially since I was so close to purchasing the color for $20 online!
