Perfect Weekender Bags

Every fashionista needs to have a good weekender bag available for those last minute trips. Especially in the summer, I find myself going away for just the weekend- so the questions rises, what bag should I bring with me on my trip? I have two favorite, go-to weekender duffel bags- one for fashionistas on a budget and one for fashionistas willing to splurge.

For fashionistas on a budget, the best weekender bag is the Vera Bradley Large Duffel. I used to use the Vera Bradley small duffel, which is also a great choice, but I was finding that I did not have enough space (the small duffel is more suited for one night away) so I needed to upgrade to something larger.
I just purchased my large duffel before I went away this fourth of July weekend, and I love it! I got the pattern "Totally Turq", which is pictured above on the large duffel. It has the perfect amount of space for a weekend away, it is made of light and durable material, and comes in a plethora of colors and shades. It is an affordable, yet fashionable option for weekend travel.
For fashionistas who can splurge a bit, I adore my Louis Vuitton Keepall 50 with shoulder strap. It is a timeless option when purchased in the classic Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas print. The shoulder strap is a necessity (it is available without it) because the bag is a bit heavy. My favorite little detail/addition to this bag is the luggage tag I got hot stamp monogrammed in metallic gold with my initials. I love traveling with this bag- it makes me feel so fabulous, timeless, and classy. It is a must-have for all glamour girls willing to splurge!
Personally, I love both of these bags for different reasons. I've found that the Vera is perfect for bus rides, especially when you are traveling alone and can not be carrying something too heavy. It is also good when you think that you may get your bag dirty, wet, sandy, etc. Also, the fun colors and patterns are awesome for ladies wanting to express themselves- there is a style for everyone!
The Louie is quite the opposite- I would never take it on a trip where I thought I might get it dirty. It is also quite heavy due to its leather and hardware. I use this bag mostly when I am going on airplane rides (it is the largest size that you can take on the plane with you and store in the above compartments). Since it is heavy, I usually perch it on top of a rolling carry-on and wheel it around. However, it is a classic and durable bag that I know I will love and use for the rest of my life.

You can purchase the Vera Bradley large duffel at Vera Bradley stores and select Hallmark stores
Retail price: $80
You can purchase the Louis Vuitton Keepall 50 at Louis Vuitton stores (ONLY Louis Vuitton and select department store boutiques- like Saks- sell authentic Louis Vuitton; Please DO NOT participate in the counterfeit goods market, only purchase authentic goods that you can afford)
Retail Price: $1,225

Reebok Easy Tones

I'm definitely not a sporty type of girl at all, nor am I really a work out fanatic, so sneakers aren't usually my shoe of choice; however, I heard so many good things about Reebok's Easy Tone sneakers that I finally had to give in and buy a pair of my own.
This comfortable shoe with innovative technology has been promoted and endorsed all throughout Hollywood with celebrities, such as the Kardashians and Kendra Wilkinson, swearing by these shoes.
I wear sneakers when I go out with my Mom walking, go to the gym, or run with my boyfriend, so I figured that they certainly wouldn't go to waste- the real question was: Will they actually work? Reebok Easy Tones are supposed to help tone your leg muscles with every step you take. The specially designed sole of this sneaker has a sort of ball balance pod on it, which creates instability as you walk. This promotes toning your calves, glutes, and hamstrings as you walk, making your work out more effective.
I have only had mine for a few weeks, so I obviously haven't noticed any huge changes in the toning of my legs (yet), but I do enjoy walking on them- It feels like you are "walking on air"! Even if no real changes occur with these shoes, I still like them very much. I got the black color, which goes great with everything, and they are very comfortable to wear. Reebok also offers many other colors (a blue and white version shown below), and a version of the Easy Tones created specifically for runners.
Overall, I like my Reebok Easy Tone sneakers very much, plan on continuing to wear them, and hope to see results!

Verdict= Love them! (4/5 stars, but potential to be 5/5 if I see some results!)

You can purchase Reebok Easy Tone sneakers at Reebok or at department stores (I purchased mine at Nordstroms)
Retail Price: around $100

Happy 4th of July!

On a day that all of us are overly proud to be American, only one thing comes to my mind- what do I wear?! I hope to be able to shed a little light on that in this post- how fashionistas can dress to show they love America, but not look like a giant flag or statue of liberty roaming the streets (believe me I've seen it FAR too many times).
Of course, it is the 4th of July, so you have to wear red, white, and blue! Most of us will be partaking in outdoor festivities today, like BBQs, picnics, fireworks and carnivals, which means we can't dress too fancy, but we also shouldn't just wear jeans and call it a day.
A casual sundress is absolutely perfect for a nice, hot, sunny day like today. Choose a solid sundress in red, white, or blue that suits your style and that you can wear again sometime in the future (it is always great to get lots of use out of one dress). Now, be creative and accessorize with the other colors that aren't in your dress. Example- If you are wearing a blue sundress, wear white shoes and a red flower in your hair. Express yourself and get creative with it!
I personally will be in the Hamptons, NY on this holiday weekend with my wonderful boyfriend, watching fireworks, going to the beach, and BBQ-ing. I will be wearing a bright red sundress and big white floppy hat to show my American price, and, of course, I got my toes painted blue! hehe
Happy 4th of July! Enjoy the holiday, be safe, and HAVE FUN!

Trend Alert- Tiffany Blue Nails

Calling all fashionistas- This is one HOT HOT HOT trend for the summer! Tiffany Blue nails are the new thing for celebrities, style icons, and fashionistas everywhere! The Tiffany Blue shade is quite a distinctive color, and is actually trademarked for Tiffany & Co's sole usage; however, this trendy nail shade comes quite close to the coveted color (in the range of turquoise, baby blue, robin's egg blue, etc.)

Chanel started the craze with their "Nouvelle Vague" Le Vernis Nail Colour, which has been seen on A-List celebrities such as Beyonce. Currently, it is completely sold out everywhere (except Ebay of course, for over $100!)
Since Chanel's polish is very pricey, here are a few other options to help fashionistas on a budget accomplish this trend:

The China Glaze "For Audrey" shade fits this trend perfectly- It is a favorite of fashionistas everywhere. You can purchase China Glaze Polish at Beauty Stores and Nail Salons for around $7, the perfect price for trendy ladies on a budget.
"What's With the Cattitude?" from OPI's Shrek Forever After Brights Collection is an amazing color that can be purchased for under $10 a bottle at Beauty Stores and Nail Salons. I personally love OPI polish- it makes up the majority of my nail polish collection- it is a great brand, with funny polish names, salon quality, and at a reasonable price.

The Tiffany Blue color nail polish trend is perfect for the summer time- It is fun, bright, and fabulous! Experiment with this trend and enjoy looking fierce!

My Amazing New Bedroom!

WOW! That is all I have to say about my fabulous new room! I have never once in my life ever redecorated my room, but while I was in NYC for a month it was completely refurbished and redone and I couldn't be happier with it.

Prior to this, I had plain white walls, covered up with childhood/teenage random remnants, posters, pictures, etc. and dark pinkish burgundy carpets. It was in dire need of being redone, but no one ever wanted to do it because I have SO much stuff, and it would just be such a colossal disaster mess to move it all. But it was finally done and I couldn't be happier with the finished product!
I got my walls painted a fierce shade of pink, my carpets redone in a stone gray (castle gray as they called it- I always wanted to live in a castle lol), and a new white bed frame. I got an amazing poster for my main wall that is in a black frame- it is of a girl (who my mom said looks like me, I don't really agree that much, but I guess it sort of does) with "Glamour Girl" written in cursive above her head- how fabulous and perfect is that?!

Before I had even seen the final product of my new redesigned bedroom, I purchased four small pictures from an artist in Union Square NYC. The pictures are sketches of four separate fashionista ladies in Rome, Paris, London, and NYC. I flamed them in black frames and hung them up- they're perfect!
Reorganizing, cleaning, and redesigning my bedroom was such an amazing thing to do- I LOVE spending time in my room now that it looks the way it does! My bedroom is so fabulous and comfortable now, and just feels like a place that is all mine and made for me!

Have any of you fashionistas redesigned rooms lately?? Tell me about it in a comment to this post!

Hair Accessories 101: Headbands

My favorite hair accessory ever is the headband. I have been wearing headbands since I can remember because I have always had lots and lots of hair. Headbands are a fun, youthful, and stylish, yet functional accessory that can spruce up any outfit.

The best part about headbands are the variety offered- this accessory can fit any personality because there are so many colors and styles to choose from. Headbands look great with hair up or down, so experiment and find a style that works best for you. They can really add that extra sumthin-sumthinn to your hair and outfit!

Personally, I almost always buy my headbands and hair accessories at Nordstroms. Here are some fun and beautiful styles that they have right now that I recommend:

The Tasha Grosgrain Ribbon Flower Headband for $42 (available in gray, black, champagne, and ivory) Pictured above.
Cara Accessories 'Vintage Rocks' Headband for $38 (available in pink, lilac, gray, and nude) Pictured on model above.

For fashionistas on a budget, I would recommend checking Forever21 for headbands and hair accessories. They are super cheap and great for trendy designs. Here are some that I recommend:
Dual Faceted Bead Headband for $5.80; Pictured above.

Lace Flower Headband for $6.80; Pictured above.

A headband is an accessory that never goes out of style, and is suitable for glamour girls of every age group. Headbands add fun and function to any ensemble, and are an essential for every fashionista.

Experiment with a headband in your ensemble today, and share your favorites on a comment on this post! Thanks for reading!

Want It Wednesday!

For this week's "Want It" item, I decided to go with something that really caught my eye: this fabulously colorful Versace Floral-Print Stretch-Satin Dress.
This multicolored flower print mini dress is sure to draw attention and turn heads! The primary colors of this bold dress are bright orange and blue, with subtle accent hints of fuchsia, purple, pink, green, and white.
If I had the chance to style someone in this dress, I would first recommend pairing it with these amazing Jimmy Choo Private Patent Leather Sandals in nude. The nude/neutral color is of utmost importance in this styling because the dress is so busy, bold, and colorful. All attention should be on the dress in this case, so your best option is to pair it with a shoe that will not attract much attention. These Jimmy Choo sandals have a 5 inch heel and have a gold zipper closure detail at the back.
As far as jewelry goes with this styling, I once again would recommend sticking to simple designs since all eyes should be on this bold dress. This YSL Arty Flower ring in gold will do the trick- It offers an abstract, golden, floral design, which compliments this dress perfectly. For earrings, just a simple gold stud will work best.

This dress will make such a dramatic statement at any event, and when styled correctly, could really be a jaw-dropper! If only I could have a dress like this, and more importantly, a place to wear it to! ;)

All items included in this post can be purchased at www.Net-A-Porter.com
Retail Prices: Versace Floral-Print Stretch-Satin Dress, $1,775; Jimmy Choo Private Patent Leather Sandals, $950; YSL Arty Flower Ring, $195

Thanks for reading, fashionistas!

My Most-Loved Necklace

I have always been a jewelry lover, but never in my life have I ever loved a necklace more than this one. My classic Chanel long pearl necklace with interlocking C's is my absolute FAVORITE!

I dreamed about purchasing this necklace for a very long time, and finally splurged and received it as an early Christmas present last year from my amazing parents :) I had seen countless pictures of celebrities, socialites, and fashionistas alike sporting their Chanel pearl necklaces, which only increased my love and obsession for it, and made me want it even more.

This Chanel piece is classic and timeless- pearls, I promise you, will never go out of style. The interlocking C's are not too flashy or bold, but still let you know that the necklace is Chanel. You can wear this piece long (my preferred way) or double it up and wear it short. I love wearing this necklace with a simple black dress, black tights, and black & white shoes, which totally reinforces the classic Chanel black & white look.
Whenever I put this necklace on it truly makes me feel special- it is the most beautiful necklace I own and I know that I will treasure, appreciate, and love it for the rest of my life.

Do any of YOU have a piece of jewelry that makes you feel special?? How do you wear it?? Please share in a comment on this post, I would LOVE to hear about it! Thanks for reading, fashionistas!

Technology of the Moment- iPad Review

I have been thinking about writing this post for quite some time now, but I wasn't sure how interested my blog readers would be about a technology review; however, when I looked back to my blog's original "mission statement" if you will, Fab-YOU-lous is committed to teaching others how to live a fabulous, stylish, and glamorous lifestyle, which I believe does include new, stylish, and hot technology such as the most saught-after technology piece at the moment- Apple's iPad!

I am a fortunate owner of an iPad, and purchased mine the week that Apple began selling them in stores (I have had it for several months now). I, like many others, are obsessed with all of Apple's technology- I own a MacBook, iPhone, iPod, and iPad and have gone through many versions of all of the above listed products. So naturally, I had to purchase the iPad immediately and add it to my Apple collection.
The screen is absolutely fabulous- the colors and depth of the pictures and graphics that you are holding right in your hands is amazing! The screen is the perfect size, but the iPad does get heavy if you are holding it upwright for awhile. A huge perk for this device is the battery life- It is phenomenal- I once had my iPad on and used it for 5 days without charging it!

I have downloaded pages and pages of apps, and I am very pleased with them all. Most have been free, but I splurged on a few that I thought were really cool, such as a stargazer application that shows you exactly where any constellation is in the sky using your iPad as a reference point. Also, I downloaded the Pages application, which is Apple's version of Word- This works well, but I would not recommend typing a long paper on this device, it is best for short edits to documents.

For someone who doesn't do much more than search the internet, check emails, use AIM, and play Solitare, this device allows me to do it all with ease. It is a great device for traveling due to its small size and light weight, as compared to a regular laptop; however, I still would not travel without my MacBook laptop as well, due to some of the missing features on the iPad, including: webcam, USB port (for camera, music, documents, etc.), and CD drive.
Overall, I enjoy my iPad very much, but definitely could live without it. The best way to describe its functionality is that it is in a space between the iPhone and MacBook, but doesn't replace either of them; therefore, making it a fun device, but definitely unnecessary if you, like myself, own an iPhone and a MacBook.

Verdict= 3/5 stars

You can purchase an iPad at Apple (online or in stores)
Retail Price: $500-$829

LV Emilie Wallet

I am so excited to write this post about my new wallet! I have been lusting over this fabulous Louis Vuitton Emilie Wallet for so long, and I finally gave in and purchased it.

I really wanted to purchase it in the NYC 5th ave store so I could get the full experience, which is always fun and exciting. However, since I wanted to get my wallet personalized with my initials hot stampted inside (and I have previously had a bad experience getting this done in the store), I decided that just purchasing my wallet online would be the easiest option.

I was so surprised how quick Louis Vuitton processed and fulfilled my order- the night I placed my order, I received a shipping notice for my purchase, which was crazy fast since it had to be hot stamped. The free shipping delivery only took 3 days! Overall, I was very pleased with the online ordering system.
Now to the fun part- my wallet! I LOVE IT! It is red in the inside, but has the classic brown LV monogram on the exterior, which I think adds a fun, youthful, and current twist to the classic LV product. The interior zipper pocket, credit card slots, and money pockets are all great for optimal organization. I can't wait to enjoy this wallet for the many years to come!

Verdict= Love it! (4/5 stars)

You can purchase this Emilie Wallet at Louis Vuitton (in stores or online).

Want It Wednesday!

This week's "Want It Wednesday" item is such a classic: Christian Louboutin pumps! But they are not just any pumps, they're fuchsia glitter pumps!! These whimsical and glamorous pumps have a five and 1/2 inch heel with a hidden platform; And, of course, Louboutin's signature red sole is a fabulous and classic addition to this pump.
Seriously, what fashionista couldn't adore these amazing pumps- they remind me so much of a Barbie doll! I absolutely love the glitz and glitter, so adding fuchsia and Louboutin to the equation can only make these pumps that much better! These amazing pumps are truly perfection and are definitely my lust after item for the week.

You can purchase these Christian Louboutin Declic Glitter Pumps at Saks.

Trend Alert- Ruffles

Calling all fashionistas! We have a new hot trend on our hands- ruffles! Ruffles have taken the spotlight in many fashions for this season, especially in dresses. This has been a very prominent detail on runways and red carpets, but lucky for all of us, this trend has also transitioned into the everyday fashionista's wardrobe!
Ruffles are a classic, classy, and chic detail for any garment this season, dresses in particular. Ruffles add such a beautiful and feminine twist to a dress, especially in bright summer colors. I would recommend for every fashionista to purchase a few different styles of summer ruffle dresses in varying colors and styles of ruffles- There are plenty of options out there, so keep looking until you find a ruffle style that works for you!
Enjoy and experiment with this summer trend!
