Prime Yourself!

Applying makeup is an art- your face is the blank canvas to express your creativity. If you were to paint a wall, you would first prime it in order to get a smooth and even surface. Well the same goes for your face- you need to prime it in order to get a fresh and even surface.

Primer is an essential for any fashionista diva to have in her makeup tool kit. I use face primer and eye primer every day before applying my makeup. It not only gives your face that flawless texture and transforms it into that blank canvas, but it also gives your makeup an incredible amount of longer staying power (so you won't get that "Why does it look like I didn't even put on any makeup" feeling two hours after you applied your makeup).

For face primer, my personal favorite is the Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer. I am currently using the apricot color blend- it helps to conceal undereye circles, veins, and sunspots. They also offer color adjust (which minimizes redness), color balance (for more yellow skintones). Although it a bit pricey, it last a VERY long time- I have had the same one for over 8 months!
You can purchase this at Sephora (in stores and online).
Retail Price: $38 (1oz)

My favorite eye primer is Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. It applies on smoothly, makes your eyeshadow look more vibrant, with absolutely no creasing! I personally use the "sin" version, which is a shimmering champagne, as opposed to the normal sheer version- I love it because it adds that extra little sparkle as a base.
You can purchase this at Sephora (in stores and online).
Retail Price: $18 (.34oz)

  1. I love Urban Decay's, but I hate the bottle design. There's always so much product that I can't get to because of the curve. I always feel like I'm wasting so much product. There's gotta be someone out there somewhere that can tell me how to get to that. It's so frustrating.

L'Oreal Decrease is a good alternative when you're cash strapped, or you think you have a lot of UDPP left, but can't reach it. It's around 10 bucks less. It's not as good as UDPP, but it does the trick and I love the applicator tip.

  3. Hi Lina!!
Thanks for all of your support- I am so glad that you read everyday and love the tips :)
I have never been to Paris, but it has always been my dream to go since I was very young- I will someday, but until then my dreams will just be filled with Coco Chanel, French bread, and the Eiffel Tower.
Anyways as for clothes to bring, I hear Paris can get pretty hot & humid this time of year; therefore, I would definitely recommend bringing lots of separates and things you can easily layer on or off depending on the temperature.
I would absolutely bring some fun dresses for day and night, things that are simpler, which you can dress up by adding cute accessories and layers- an easy way to transition from day to night is to layer on a blazer or 3/4 length sleeve light sweater, change your accessories, and it looks like you have on a completely new outfit.
High-heeled chunky wedges and fun flats are always best for streets that could be cobblestone or old and uneven. And for traveling I would definitely recommend bringing some sort of bag that you can wear cross-body.
I hope you have an absolutely fabulous trip, I'm sure that you will! Explore as much as possible and take it all in! ENJOY!!! Keep me posted! xoxox
