A New Twist to an Old Favorite
Ok, I am officially OBSESSED!! Awhile ago I posted about my favorite mascara ever- Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash mascara in black. It is such a sultry mascara that really pumps up the volume of your lashes, and is one of the most essential products in my day-to-day makeup regime. Well, ladies, just when I thought it couldn't get any better, IT DID! Bare Escentuals has come out with a new twist to my favorite mascara: Introducing the Buxom Lash Mascara Special Effects Blue Noir.
I am usually an 'all black' type of girl when it comes to my makeup (and clothing a lot of times hehe)- I always use black mascara and black liner- so switching from my usual pure black to a fierce bright blue was completely out of my makeup comfort zone. However, I took a risk and purchased this product at my local Sephora, not sure how much I was going to like it. I love the original black mascara and all products from the Bare Escentuals Buxom line, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. After being able to use it myself, I seriously couldn't be happier with the look it gives me!
You can go back to my previous post to read about how amazing the original Buxom lash mascara is (Click Here: Fab-YOU-lous: My Secret to Perfect Lashes) This Blue Noir mascara is exactly the same formula as the original black Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash that I love so much- It gives you big, thick, clump-free and flake-free lashes.
The fabulous color is where the Special Effects Blue Noir differs from the original- This blue color may look scary at first on the brush, but once you apply this to your lashes you will be so excited with the results you achieve. The blue is not as bright as it looks at all, actually it is not even close to it- the color is quite subtle, and does wonders on your eyes- it makes your eyeballs look incredibly white and big! You can layer the Blue Noir on alone (trust me it is VERY subtle blue and you can't notice unless you're up close); But if it scares you a bit, you can always put a coat of black on first then layer a few coats of the Blue Noir on top- this will give you an even more barely noticeable blue hint to your lashes.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with this mascara- I adore this color, and I hope you do too if you try it out- You won't regret it!
Verdict= FABULOUS!!! (5/5 stars)
You can purchase the Bare Escentuals Buxom lash mascara in Blue noir at Sephora stores or Bare Escentuals stores.

Trend Alert: Lace up Boots
Calling all fashionistas, we have spotted a hot new trend for Fall: Lace up Boots! It would be hard to ignore this huge emerging trend- This style has been seen all over the runways, on tons of celebrities, and in every single stylish store's looks for Fall.
This style comes in both flat and very high heeled versions. The most fun thing about this trend is that it encompasses such different types of styles: they offer a military, Victorian, and grungy chic vibe. This style is not only versatile style-wise, but also very practical for the Fall/Winter season.
Lace up boots are so cool and tough- they can really change the entire direction that the style of an outfit has. Try pairing some flat, distressed lace up ankle boots with a flirty, girly, ruffly dress for an effortlessly amazing and trendy look.
One of my favorite flat lace up boots of this season is seen in the photo above. The Trouve 'Sabrina' distressed leather ankle boot can be styled like Rachel Bilson's look (as seen above) to get her fun girly grunge look. This rugged distressed boot has two buckle straps and a cool fold over cuff. It is made of leather, so it would be perfect for the slippery and wet Fall/Winter season! It is available at Nordstrom and you can purchase this boot for $150.
You can take this trend in another direction by getting a high heeled version of the Lace up boot. This can dress up any outfit and give it a sort of Victorian vibe. My favorite high heeled lace up boot of the season can be seen in the photo above: It is the Miz Mooz 'Solis' Boot. This boot is made of leather and is so feminine and chic! You can purchase this boot at Nordstrom for $220.
Even the outlandish style icon, Miss Lady Gaga, has been seen out in her own version of the lace up boot style- although definitely crazy, and something that basically no one other than Gaga could ever pull off, she is always on the cusp of new trends and willing to experiment with fashion. So, as you can see above, even Gaga has been seen sporting this fun lace up boot trend.
The possibilities are truly endless with this fun, effortlessly cool new style- Experiment with this fun new trend & enjoy!

Quite a Worthwhile Read
I purchased this book, "That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between" written by Victoria Beckham, on my quest to read lots of fashion books this summer. I wasn't quite sure what it was going to be all about, but the few reviews I read were quite positive, so I figured I would give it a shot.
First of all, I absolutely LOVE Victoria Beckham, she is the epitome of posh fashion and glamour, and is definitely at the top of my list of personal fashion icons. She has created quite a name for herself- starting with the international girl band the Spice Girls, then becoming the wife of superstar David Beckham and mom to her lovely boys, and now as a fashion icon to many, even dabbling in creating her own lines of dresses, jeans, fragrance, and sunglasses.
Victoria has accomplished so much already it would be hard to not find value in her advice and tips, especially on fashion! She ALWAYS dresses herself, and has never hired a stylist (apart from things like magazine cover shoots where they have them on set)- she always pulls her own clothes, and styles every outfit herself. Although this may seem like an obvious 'no brainer' for people, you would be surprised... Almost all celebrities have stylists who dress them for every premiere, party, event, and even everyday life- well Victoria does this all on her own, and I believe she pulls it together MUCH better than any stylist ever could.
Victoria uses this book to share all that she has learned over her diverse career. She gives the reader great advice about what is appropriate to wear/how to dress for specific special occasions, work, nights out on the town, dates, etc. And even better, she tells you exactly where to buy these staples- not only at the expensive shops, but also at cheaper stores (like H&M) where you can get similar looks for less.
Victoria gives amazing fashion, style, and beauty tips to make you look fabulous every time you leave the house. The amazing pictures in this book were just as wonderful as the tips and advice- every picture included is absolutely stunning. Flipping through the pictures alone transports you into a fabulously glamorous world of fashion, and inspires you to dress beautifully and appropriately, while always making time to take care of yourself.
Well, clearly I loved every page of this book because I finished it in one and a half days (it is almost 400 pages, but there were many pictures). I would definitely recommend this read to glamour girls who wants some up-front and honest advice from a beautiful, experienced, down to earth superstar who really knows what she is talking about. Two thumbs up to Victoria, she is FABULOUS!
You can purchase this book at any major bookstore or on Amazon (very cheap).

Want It Wednesday
I am shocked that I haven't written this post yet because this bag is my most wanted/ longest wanted item EVER. This week's 'Want It' item is none other than the timeless Hermès Birkin! *swoon*
Hermès is it for me: the most fabulous luxury brand out there no question! I absolutely adore everything Hermès creates- the craftsmanship of this leather brand is impeccable and unbeatable. A Hermès Birkin starts at around $10,000 for a standard purse. However, Birkin bags can sell for over $100,000- these bags use rare leathers (such as crocodile) and some even have been adorned with diamonds!
Literally everyone that is anyone has one (or many) of these bags. Some celebrity Hermès Birkin lovers are: Victoria Beckham (owner of one of the largest and most expensive Hermès collections in the world), Oprah, Nicole Richie, Kim Kardashian, Katie Holmes, every woman on The Real Housewives of NYC, and the list will go on forever... This bag is the epitome of sophistication, luxury and class.
I cannot wait until the day that I walk into Hermès myself and purchase my dream bag- a 35cm Blue Jean Togo Leather Hermès Birkin with Palladium hardware :) Until then, I will continue putting pennies into my Hermès Birkin fund and saving up for my dream bag, which I WILL own before I am 30 years old (goal for myself I made like 4 years ago)! Until then... I will continue dreaming of the smell of Hermès leather every night :)

Trend Alert: Half Moon Manicure
I never go a day without polish on my fingers and toes- I literally believe that I would not be able to function without my nails painted a pretty hue. If you haven't figured this out by now, and it is quite obvious, I love new nail colors, trends, and styles, which leads me to the topic of this post: The half moon (reverse french) manicure!
This is a new trend that has been emerging on the runways and seen on many celebrities. I love a good french manicure- it is timelessly classy, simple, and chic; however, I think that this new half moon mani puts a fun spin on the old classic, while still maintaining the class of a french manicure.
Although this look may seem difficult to create on your own at home, it is actually quite simple. The only additional thing you need (other than a nail base, nail polish, and a top coat) is something to create the "half-moon" style with- This can be done with french manicure guide stickers (you can purchase these at any drug store or beauty supply store) or with 3 ring binder stickers (these usually come with a binder, so you may have them laying around your house- they are stickers used to fix the paper tear of a ripped page in your 3 ring binder)- picture seen above & below this paragraph.
Once you have these materials, creating a half moon manicure is quite simple: First, paint your nails with a base coat. Then paint your entire nail with a coat of the color you want the 'half moon' at the bottom to be- be sure to paint the ENTIRE nail to create an even surface; however, the polish can be thinner at the tip of the nail (1-2 coats). Wait for this polish to dry and then apply the stickers to the 'half moon' bottom of your nail to create your desired half moon shape. Paint above the half moon sticker with your desired color (2 coats). After this is completely dry, remove the stickers, and VOILA! There is your fabulous half moon manicure! Seal in this gorgeous style by layering on a top coat, and you're done!
The half moon manicure is so chic, posh, and sophisticated. What I love most about this style is that it reminds me of old Hollywood, and in certain colors (especially bright red) the style brings me back to the 1940's days of pure classic glamour. Give the half moon manicure a try and experiment with this fabulous & classic trend! Enjoy!

Manly Monday
Hello, fashionistas, and welcome to yet another 'Manly Monday'! I am so excited that this Monday tradition has been keeping up, and I have quite a few new and exciting guest bloggers lined up for the coming weeks. I am thrilled to have the amazing Darius Eslami back with us this week giving us his ideas about a very fun and manly accessory piece- So without further adieu, here is the fabulous Darius!!
Cowboys got it right- Dusty leather boots, just enough scruff, and bandanas. Bandanas are BIG. For me, it started as a costume piece, but with my hair getting longer, it became necessary to hold it back – thus, the bandana came into the picture. Not only does it keep my hair from flying into my eyes, it pulls together my look and makes me look fly as well. Feel free to refute this.
When piecing together a bohemian style, the bandana adds a flair of retro for a guy while exuding a pinch of rugged edge. For all those Bear Grylls types – you can fold the bandana once and have it triangle style cover your hair; this is what I call the traditional look.
If you want a more subtle, 70s rock’n’roll look, fold it multiple times, then rock it like a headband. Or for a combo effect, fold your bandana, but leave it wide. Then, once it is around your head, swish it to one side and you have a really sick pirate look.
Between running, Jiu Jitsu, and yoga, I work up quite a sweat. Get over it. It’s manly. Whenever possible – wearing a headband is a great way to combine functionality with fashion. If I’m going out to a bar or club, I’ll put one on for two reasons: 1) to reduce the sense of heat in a crowded social area, and 2) for the compliments.
The fun part is that is primarily seen as a costume accessory, so the prints and styles could be viewed as hipster or ironic, depending on the situation. You have your traditional Western prints (blacks and reds), camouflage (desert and greens), and many more styles in between. A bandana is an inexpensive article that doesn’t hurt to have in your closet- Whether you’re backpacking up a mountain, opening your pores with Pilates, or grooving with aviators on, a bandana is not a bad way to go.
Worse comes to worse, your dog will look really cute wearing one, too.
Thanks for reading, everyone!! We hope you have an extra 'manly' Monday!

A Touch of Edge and a Splash of Sparkle
I am beyond obsessed with one of my most recent purchases- this flawless Sam Edelman 'Una' Peep Toe Bootie! This amazing shoe comes in both black and taupe suede- I personally purchased the black because I am always sporting darker hues, but it was such a hard choice- This shoe is such a show-stopper!
Although, this high heeled peep toe bootie may look difficult to walk in, it surprisingly SO is not! Although it measures in at almost 5 inches tall, the heel is chunky and there is a platform, all making it much easier to maneuver in. Additionally, the bottom of the bootie has a rubber soled grip to it- like an actual boot would- making this heel SUPER easy to walk in, especially, I would imagine, in slippery conditions.
The design of this bootie is fantastically fabulous- My favorite detail is the metallic trim highlights on the inside of the heel, around the peep toe, and under the platform. It is hard to ignore the delightfully brilliant beadwork along the side of this bootie- stunning is an understatement.
Overall, it is obvious that this bootie is amazing- I have never seen anything like this before and I would 100% recommend this heel to any fashionista, like myself, who adores glamour with a touch of sparkle and edge!
Verdict= FABULOUS!!! (5/5 stars)

Beach Fashion
Summer is an amazing time of year- everyone loves spending the day out on the beach or by the pool. This summer fun may leave many fashionistas wondering, what is appropriate beach fashion?
So many times I have seen people walking around in their bathing suits (especially bikinis) with just shorts or in a extra large tshirt over them- PLEASE do not do this! It automatically makes you look sloppy and unpolished- always cover up properly! And when choosing your suit remember that some things need to be left to the imagination, if you get my drift.
Everyone wants to look good on the beach, especially since you are more than half naked in front of strangers... This leads me to the fashionista's most important item for beach fashion: a perfect swimsuit cover-up. A cover-up is so important and every fashionista needs a few in her beachwear repertoire. I personally love the terrycloth halter cover-ups that Ralph Lauren makes to match their suits (picture seen above- I have at least 5 of these and it is what I always wear over my suit to the beach or pool), you immediately look very classic and posh wearing one of these.
If you don't want to spend the money on an actual cover-up, that is totally cool too, you can always opt to use a sundress that you already have in your closet. Anything that is flowy and of light material will work perfectly for a cover-up, and bright colors are extra fun!
Another one of my favorite beach fashions is to wear a huge floppy hat- I think this is so fun, fashionable, and also practical! Wearing a hat like this will shield you from the harmful UV rays, while also giving your beachwear an instant explosion of glamour. Personally, I wear a white floppy hat, which I love because does not attract the sun and matches everything.
Find whatever works best for you and try it out- Thanks for reading and have fun in the sun!

I'm Going Mad!
Mad as a Hatter, that is ;) It was a usual day- I decided to go to the nail salon to get a much needed, stress-relieving pedicure, but BAMMM I stopped dead in my tracks when my eyes laid sight on this color: OPI Mad as a Hatter- A fantastically fun pure multicolor glitter color, like nothing I had ever seen before.
This color was a part of OPI's collection created especially for Disney's Alice in Wonderland movie. There were 4 colors released earlier this year in this special edition collection- Mad as a Hatter (multicolored purple/silver glitter), Absolutely Alice (blue glitter), Off with her Red (tomato red color), and Thanks so Muchness!(berry red metallic shimmer).
At first I was unsure of the Mad as a Hatter color, especially because it is summer, and I tend to choose more bright/bold colors in the summer (bright red, pink, blue, etc). However, I LOVE glitter, and this color is truly 100% pure glitter, like no other nail color I have ever seen, so I knew I would regret it if I didn't give it a shot. Well, thank goodness I went with my gut because I am OBSESSED with this polish! It is so amazing, and even more fabulous in the summertime with the summer sun hitting my toes and making them so shiny and sparkly!
I NEED to get my hands on this color, but unfortunately it is sold out everywhere and is priced around $20 for one bottle anywhere I can find it online (Very expensive when a regular OPI polish runs around $8.50); but, I am so obsessed I may splurge on it- I am so infatuated with this color, I can't stop staring at my toes!
Verdict= FABULOUS!!! (5/5 stars)
UPDATE!!- I found this polish! Woohooo! I was walking around the mall and decided to peek into a few nail salons, not really thinking that they would have it, but crossing my fingers just in case, and there it was! The sole lonely brand new 'Mad Hatter' bottle of polish in the for sale section of polishes. I scooped it up immediately, and better yet, it only cost $8! So excited about this amazing find, especially since I was so close to purchasing the color for $20 online!

Want It Wednesday!
This week's "Want It" item is yet another fabulous piece from one of my all-time favorite brands, Louis Vuitton. This fierce Louis Vuitton Leopard Print Stole is sure to make heads turn. This leopard print design was created for Louis Vuitton by the renowned American artist Stephen Sprouse, and also features the signature Stephen Sprouse graffiti 'Louis Vuitton' signature in pink.
I am obsessed with the entire Stephen Sprouse collection for Louis Vuitton, and this scarf has been one of my favorite pieces ever since it was released. It is made of 70% cashmere are 30% silk, creating the most perfectly luxurious accessory suitable for all seasons.
This scarf is such a hot accessory, and is a staple in numerous celebrity closets- I mean who couldn't love leopard print and Louis Vuitton? And of course adding the amazing Stephen Sprouse into the mix can only equal a glamorous success.
You can purchase this Louis Vuitton leopard print stole only at Louis Vuitton Boutiques (and sometimes on their website)- this accessory is so hot that it usually isn't in stock!
